The S3 vending system, developed and managed by Syntell, uses a graphical user interface and operates on multiple platforms. It employs a centralised database with real-time integration and billing for online transaction processing. S3 controls monthly electricity purchases of over R80 million in Southern Africa, and provides management information for the most successful prepayment sites.

In Cape Town, where the system manages over 400 000 meters and sales in excess ofR60 million per month, electricity arrears have been radically reduced.  

In order to provide a broader service to the public, Syntell has created www.paycity.co.za , an online payment portal for connected citizens. The site incorporates the Payfine and Energy services as well vehicle licence disk renewals.
