    Job Description

    • This is a job for a person who is passionate about software development for embedded systems in C++, and has some experience
    • • Work at Syntell developing software for various embedded systems
    • • Be a team member on various embedded software development projects for projects in the traffic control industry
    • • Be a team member of the Traffic R&D Department
    • • Continue becoming an expert in C++ software development, especially for embedded systems.
    • • Participate critically in review of system requirements, as applicable.
    • • Become an expert in real time operating system configuration and deployment.
    • • Maintain and refactor legacy code as required.
    • • Be able to undertake local and international air travel for Syntell.

    Competencies

    • • Sound knowledge and in-depth understanding of real time, multitasking software for embedded systems, with relevant experience.
    • • Sound knowledge of installing and maintaining Linux operating systems on board support packages.

    • • Sound knowledge of OOD, test driven development, continuous release approach
    • • Competent with Windows OS and – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

    Qualifications

    • University Degree that as a minimum is equivalent to a BSc Honours Degree, preferably in Computer Science or light current electrical engineering

    Experience

    • • 4 or more year’s software development experience with C++, Java or Go.
    • • 2 or more years’ experience with embedded software development – how to design multithreaded applications, how to debug them, how to test them.
    • • 2 or more experience integrating application software on real time operating systems.

    Job Description

    • Maintains inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items; securing stores; supervising staff. In addition to
    • having direct responsibility for providing the daily support to the procurement manager and operations team, duties will also
    • include planning for the monthly reporting requirements of Syntell Group.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • • Accomplishes stores human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling and coaching, employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
    • • Meets stores operational standards by contributing stores information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying stores system improvements
    • • Meets stores financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions
    • • Moves inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from stores; coordinating inventory transfers with related departments
    • • Delivers supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items.
    • • Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
    • • Maintains inventory by conducting monthly physical counts; reconciling variances; inputting data.
    • • Secures stores by turning alarms on; testing systems.
    • • Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
    • • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

    • • Must be proficient in Word, Excel capabilities required

    • • Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency

  • OPERATIONS MANAGER: FRONT – END (EMPD)

    Role Mandate

    • To Manage existing EMPD contract operationally in the Speed Law Enforcement area, to implement and roll-out requirements in this area and increase and maintain deployment of speed cameras in the organisation

    Job Description

    • • Attend strategic Monthly meetings with EMPD clients
    • • Co-Ordinate quarterly feedback session with EMPD senior officials
    • • Manage Camera Deployment Plan within the client’s requirements.
    • • Liaison with Senior Manager/operations Head on a weekly-basis.
    • • Establish D.P.P site Application Task Team for EMPD
    • • Build and Improve relationship with Clients, by ensuring optimal camera utilisation
    • • Synchronize relationship with Back-Office heads and Service Centre
    • • Recruit and monitor technical support staff within EMPD Contract
    • • Prepare and authorize administrative work i.e. TIME cards, Quotes and Leave Applications.
    • • Drive semi-fixed initiatives.
    • • Manage existing speed section technical staff to comply with Quality, OHS and TCSP requirements
    • • Coordination with Calibration labs and repair facilities to ensure optimal turnaround times

    Minimum Requirements
